🦷 Orthodontics isn’t just about straight teeth. It’s about how everything works together.

Did you know orthodontists can also evaluate how the teeth, jaws, tongue position, and facial growth may affect breathing and sleep?

During an orthodontic evaluation, we’re looking at more than just the smile. We may also assess:

✨ Jaw growth and development
✨ Narrow arches and available tongue space
✨ Bite and facial structure
✨ Mouth-breathing patterns and other potential airway concerns
✨ Whether additional evaluation by an ENT, pediatrician, or sleep specialist may be helpful

For children especially, early orthodontic evaluations can help identify growth and development concerns while their jaws are still developing.

A beautiful smile is important — but so is healthy growth, function, and breathing. 💙

📅 The American Association of Orthodontists recommends children have their first orthodontic check-up by age 7.
